Keralan Daal
Daal is the staple dish of India. Popular amongst all age groups, it is high in protein and a must for the vegan diet. Combined with the Keralan sauce, it is wonderful expression of how great lentils can be.
Prep and cook time 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 pot of Keralan cook in sauce
- 250g of split red lentils
- 500ml of water
Instructions:
1. Add the pot of sauce to a large pan
2. Add 500ml of water
3. Rinse the lentils and add to the sauce and water
4. Bring to the boil on a high heat
5. Cover and simmer on a low heat for 20 minutes
6. Garnish with fresh chopped coriander (optional)
7. Serve with naan, rice or chapatti
